Description :
Gereida is one of the largest internally displaced persons camp in Darfur, where the majority of the people in the camp are women and children. The ICRC is now covering the basic food, health, water and sanitation needs in the camp.
The ICRC supplies drinking water to thousands of displaced persosn and maintains the existing water infraestructure. The maintenance and improvement of adequate water facilities are vital to the sustainability of living conditions in the camp.
