Description :
Gereida is one of the largest internally displaced persons camp in Darfur, where the majority of the people in the camp are women and children. The ICRC is now covering the basic food, health, water and sanitation needs in the camp.
As internally displaced persons are fully dependent on food aid, food rations are provided on a monthly basis to over 100,000 persons living in Gereida camp allowing the population to cover their food needs. Each ration consists of sorghum, lentils, salt, sugar and soap.
The ICRC remains committed to alleviating the suffering of civilians affected by armed conflict in Sudan
