Description : ICRC support consists of on-the-job training as well as instruction in physiotherapy and in prosthetics and orthotics. The ICRC also provides components for manufacturing prostheses and orthoses and contributes to repairs to the premises and to running costs.

A bilateral amputee is using the parallel bars during gait training exercises while learning to walk on protheses. The ICRC ortho-prosthetist observes him to see how the prosthesis fits and how the amputee is walking with it. Certain issues can then be addressed by doing adjustements to the prosthesis.
