Description :
The ICRC evaluates the prison population’s conditions of detention and provides humanitarian assistance to detainees when necessary.
Through the ICRC’s water and habit program, the Cojutepeque Penal Center has improved hygiene, sanitation and access to drinking water for detainees. In addition to making structural improvements to these overpopulated prisons, the ICRC helps to improve conditions for prison staff and persons deprived of their freedom.
