Caption : Saint-Louis region, Ndiebène village. Rokhaya is 60 years old. Her little brother, Yancoba, was 25 years old when he disappeared in 2006. He left from Mauritania without telling anyone. She thinks the pirogue had an accident and he is dead, that’s why she has lost all hope that he is still alive. She now takes care of his nine-year-old son. Rokhaya lives with 18 other people and sells peanuts and fruit to survive.

Description : Yancoba was married but after his disappearance his wife married another man. Rokhaya says she has suffered a lot since Yancoba disappeared. His son, Babacar, was told by a friend that his father had died. Babacar asked Rokhaya if this was true and she had no choice but to tell him the truth.
