Caption : Saint-Louis region, Pilote Barre village. ICRC helps families of missing migrants. Insa is 56 years old. His son, Ousseynou, went missing when he was 20 years old. Insa wanted his son to stay but he really wanted to go. Ousseynou talked to his mother who talked to his grandmother and who then convinced his father. When Insa finally said yes, he gave him advice and prayed for him. After 10 days without news Insa started to worry. And when he saw that other pirogues arrived in Europe and his son’s didn’t he started to lose hope. He regretted a lot the day he gave him permission and he would never do it again. Insa has seven other children. Insa and his wife benefit from the psychological support group and the alphabetization course. He is the president of the association of families of missing migrants in the village.

Description : Insa is a fisherman. He understands why the young people leave but he thinks it is not easy for them to find what they are looking for. Insa sells his daily catch of fish to a neighbor for 2000 CFA (3 euros).
