In villages of the Kryvyi Rih district, residents are strengthening their food security with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross. For rural families, agriculture remains a key source of food and livelihood. Despite rising prices and economic challenges, households continue cultivating their land and adapting to difficult conditions.
The provision of greenhouses and agricultural inputs helps reduce financial pressure, improve growing conditions, and increase yields. This support is especially important for families with children who aim to provide nutritious food for their households.
With this assistance, families are planning to grow a variety of crops — including cucumbers, tomatoes, watermelons, eggplants, and corn. Greenhouses also allow them to start the growing season earlier and expect more stable harvests.
In some cases, one greenhouse supports several families, helping them collectively grow natural produce and strengthen food security within their community.
