Description :
The grand finale of the first edition of the "Humanitarian Pen" competition, dedicated to International Humanitarian Law (IHL), is taking place on December 12, 2024, at the Mahatma Gandhi International Conference Center in Niamey. Held under the high patronage of the Minister of Justice, Human Rights, and Keeper of the Seals, this event is organized by the Assembly of Actors for the Promotion and Respect of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights (RASAPRES DIH DH), with financial support from Switzerland.
This inaugural edition brings together candidates from the Law Faculties of six institutions, including public and private universities, as well as major schools and institutes in the country. Young magistrates and judicial trainees are also participating in the competition. In total, 12 students, young magistrates, and judicial trainees are competing in this final, which serves as a key moment to promote and disseminate the values of International Humanitarian Law in Niger.
