Description : In Kachin State, around 80,000 people have had to flee their houses during the outbreaks of violence, leaving homes and livelihoods behind. They now live in camps or are staying with relatives across the State.

The ICRC and the Myanmar Red Cross Society set up livelihood projects for displaced people, working hand in hand with the families to identify new activities (including gardening, amber polishing, ...) to supplement their incomes. This program is largely funded by the ICRC and carried out by Myanmar Red Cross Society volunteers.
