Belgrade. Misko Deverdzic's daughters' room in the two room division that his family shares in the Collective center where they have been living since they fled Kosovo. Originally from Istok/Istog in Kosovo, Misko and his father Rados were, according to Misko, “taken prisoners by the members of KLA”, when they gave their Albanian neighbours a lifesaving ride to a safe part of town. Misko was found alive, but has been haunted by the disappearance of his father Rados ever since and has been plagued by difficult living and economic conditions since he came with his family to Belgrade. Fifteen years after they fled Kosovo, they are still staying in the Collective centre in an old factory in Resnik, on the outskirts of Belgrade, where today 80 other internal displaced families from Kosovo are living.

Description :
Fourteen years after the conflict, in central and northern Serbia there are roughly 88,000 internally displaced Serbs from Kosovo, many of whom still live in collective centers, or occupied housing, and receive little assistance. Kosovo was their place of birth and for many, the place that they only ever knew until the conflict of 1998-99 when many had to leave. Some still have houses in Kosovo, but their return remains uncertain. Some lost relatives during the conflict and a number of them are still waiting to learn about the fate of their missing loved ones.
