Caption : Barajevo. A photo of Slobodanka Krstic's house in Kosovo, which she still owns despite that it has been partially destroyed and burgled. Slobodanka fled Kosovo as the conflict ended and came to Barajevo village on the outskirts of Belgrade, where she housed 9 family members in one room for years. She has since been back to her house in Kosovo twice, but says that she did not feel to visit again.

Description : Fourteen years after the conflict, in central and northern Serbia there are roughly 88,000 internally displaced Serbs from Kosovo, many of whom still live in collective centers, or occupied housing, and receive little assistance. Kosovo was their place of birth and for many, the place that they only ever knew until the conflict of 1998-99 when many had to leave. Some still have houses in Kosovo, but their return remains uncertain. Some lost relatives during the conflict and a number of them are still waiting to learn about the fate of their missing loved ones.
