ICRC was also provided a platform to talk about the importance of social inclusion for all, ICRC’s PRP work and the challenges within, as part of the ASEAN Disability Forum Conference 2015’s panel on “Empowerment of Persons living with Disabilities and Independent Living”. Complementing the session by ICRC Cambodia’s Philip Morgan, Nimul took centre stage to share her story with participants. Her story is one of resilience in the face of adversity and she focused on calling those living with disability to focus on positives, look for opportunities and not let their disability hinder them. She said “
“I want to encourage other disabled people to keep working hard and not listen to others. You have to tell people that being disabled is not an obstacle to do what other people can do.”
