Description :
At the water plant, there are three steps from the capitation of the water in the Nile to the delivery of water to the population:
First step: There are four water tanks that get water directly from the Nile. Each of these four tanks can handle 70.000 cubic meters.
Second step: As the level of turbidity of the water in the Nile varies, it needs to be tested when collected. From these tests, it is decided how the water will be treated to become safe for drinking.
Third step: To clean the water, it is moved from the four initial tanks to six other tanks where it becomes safe water. From here, water trucks can collect safe water. There also is a place next to the water plant where the local community can fetch their water.
In 2016, 12 water trucks were delivering water to specific areas, where commercial trucks do not go. The water plant also delivers water to Juba military hospital.
