ICRC website, “Armenia: Living between hope and despair”, 5 September 2017

"It's been 23 years since the signing of the ceasefire agreement on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Thousands of families of the missing are still waiting for news of their loved ones.
Relatives of the people who went missing in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict tell their stories of living through the ambiguity of waiting, enduring hope and neverending despair. Their stories may be different but their pain is the same.
In Armenia, we give support to families of the missing by helping them with improved access to medical, legal and administrative services. We provide economic and psychosocial assistance, and help with finding ways to commemorate their missing relatives and to sensitize communities around them."
