Caption : Karachi, Machar Colony. An 18 years old boy sits around in his neighborhood not doing much the entire day. He only studied for the first three years in school and then stopped going. He has been denied an ID card so he can’t find work. He goes to the fisheries twice a week at the break of dawn (where most of the men from his community go) to try and offer his services as labor to fishermen.

Description : These people were Pakistanis before 1971 but became stateless when East Pakistan became Bangladesh. There are hundreds of thousands of people in the similar situation in Bangladesh (also known as Beharis) who at that time opposed the separation of East Pakistan and got stranded there ever since. Many do not have the nationality either and represent the part of the same problem which exists in both Pakistan and Bangladesh.
