Description :
Mother of five children, Rahma lives in difficult conditions. On a daily basis, she juggles running a bakery, caring for her ailing husband and supporting her two sons, who still live with her due to financial difficulties. Despite the difficulties, including lack of electricity, expensive water and long, exhausting days, she continues to hope for a better future. Having married young, at the age of 16, she works hard today to support herself and her family, and bravely faces the reality, different from the one she had imagined at the time.
By 2026, more than 100,000 residents of Arsal should have better access to drinking water as part of a project to restructure the city's water services. This initiative is supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Water, the Bekaa Water Establishment and the governorate of Baalbek-Hermel, with financial backing from the French Development Agency (AFD).
