Description :
Sanaa, his mother, ran a small store that provided her with a regular income. One day, however, she had to close her store because her customers were no longer able to pay for what they were taking. Her husband, who had suffered from mental illness for ten years, was also diagnosed with cancer. She is not sure that the water she buys from a tanker truck is safe to drink, and fears it may be the cause of her daughter's kidney problems. Sanaa dreams of having a job to support her children.
By 2026, more than 100,000 residents of Arsal should have better access to drinking water as part of a project to restructure the city's water services. This initiative is supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Water, the Bekaa Water Establishment and the governorate of Baalbek-Hermel, with financial backing from the French Development Agency (AFD).
