Description :
Today she lives in a centre for displaced people in Mocimboa da Praia along with more than 500 families in a makeshift camp.
At the centre, life is like sleeping on the floor, without blankets, mats or pots and pans.
With the support of the ICRC, she says, they don't even have tarpaulins to cover their houses, especially when it rains.
In Mocímboa da Praia, a district severely affected by the armed conflict, where many people have returned to their areas of origin with various needs, the ICRC distributed 1516 kits of essential household items.
In addition to returning families, internally displaced people and residents with livelihood problems have seen their conditions improved through the support provided by the ICRC. These are essential household items kits consisting of a blanket, plastic mat, tarpaulins, laundry soap, bucket, kitchen set, mosquito net and hygiene kit. The ICRC's support has helped some families to start over and others to improve, since most of them have lost everything they had as a result of the armed conflict in Cabo Delgado.
