Today, she lives in a center for displaced persons in Mocímboa da Praia, alongside more than 500 families in an improvised camp.
In this center, life is reduced to sleeping on the ground, without blankets, tarps, mats, or cooking utensils.
In Mocímboa da Praia, a district severely affected by armed conflict, where many people have returned to their areas of origin with various needs, the ICRC distributed 1,516 kits of essential household items.
In addition to returning families, internally displaced persons and residents facing livelihood challenges have seen their conditions improve thanks to the support provided by the ICRC. These essential household kits include a blanket, a plastic mat, tarps, laundry soap, a bucket, a cooking set, a mosquito net, and a hygiene kit.
