Description :
The signing of a peace agreement in August 2005 between the Indonesian government and the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) armed group in Helsinki has opened a new chapter in Indonesia's history. For the Acehneses, however, prosperity is a long way to go. The ICRC is helping the Acehnese who survived three decades of armed conflict to rebuild their homes and their lives.
In this hamlet, the ICRC distributed some building materials like wood and iron sheeting to help repair two classrooms in the school (seen in the background on the right handside)
