Description : In 2004, at the height of the gang warfare, the ICRC secured water supplies and provided the population with safe access to it. Previously they had often had to risk their lives crossing frontlines to fill their buckets.
Today, the ICRC works with the local water board to maintain and operate 53 neighbourhood water fountains across Cité Soleil, turning them on for a couple of hours 20 days a month.
