Description : Maiduguri is one of 15 health facilities that have received first-aid materials and medicines from the ICRC in recent months. The ICRC is making it possible for displaced people to receive treatment at the hospital in Maiduguri free of charge. The ICRC provides medical supplies and surgical training to the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri to help treat illnesses and wounds inflicted by bomb blasts and gunshots.
The ICRC and the Nigerian Red Cross are engaged in large-scale activities to help people affected by the conflict in north-east Nigeria. Since December 2014, the two organizations have distributed food to more than 200,000 people and have been supplying clean water and providing health care.
