Description : Jobel is an Island of 422 souls located in the most remote area of Guinea Bissau. Forced to flee in to Senegal in 1968 during the independence war of Amilcar Cabral, they have returned to their island in 1975. They live with the strength of their courage on a 6 km 2 land below sea level without soft water, and electricity. Their daily battle is to keep salt water of the island so they can cultivate rice and walk long distance to get fresh water for survival.
