Description :
Each water bladder holds up to 10,000 litres of purified water to be transported on water tankers to the population affected by typhoon Haiyan and who lost any source of drinking water.
People of Malabag had to walk 1.5 km to collect water from the nearest water source before the installation of the ICRC water bladder. Handpumps in the community were damaged by typhoon Haiyan, contaminating the only water sources.
Damaged handpumps have left the water undrinkable due to high iron content, leaving the population vulnerable to water-borne diseases.
