Description :
The small village of Slavkurort is situated 5 minutes' drive from Sloviansk. When fighting shifted from Sloviansk to Donetsk and nearby towns, the villagers of Slavkurort decided to host internally displaced persons from Donetsk, Gorlovka, Yenakiyevo, Debaltseve, etc. They provided accommodation for the people free of charge and some of the hosts managed to receive up to 50 people.
In Slavkurort, the ICRC carried out a distribution of food parcels for 150 displaced families at the beginning of September 2014. In December 2014, a team from ICRC Kharkiv office made another trip to Slavkurort to talk to the internally displaced persons who received assistance and enquire about their current situation, about the quality of the products they received, about the future plans of the displaced families, etc.
