Description : Mirwais admits an average of 10 conflict casualties each day. The ICRC has been supporting Mirwais since 1996, and the hospital plays a vital role in delivering healthcare in the south of Afghanistan. It is the main surgical, emergency and maternity hospital for around five million people. The ICRC is supplying drugs, training and other support, as well as helping to reconstruct parts of the hospital in need of modernisation.
