Description : The prison holds roughly 2,600 people, more than three times its maximum capacity of 800. Detainees share space with vast numbers of disease-bearing insects.

The ICRC conducts disinfestation operations to improve hygiene and living conditions in the prison. Inmates are asked to bring all their belongings -everything in their cells - outside and to take their clothes off. Then, all this - their possessions, clothes, etc. - is sprayed with insecticide.

Two hours after the spraying, the inmates are allowed to return to their cells with all their belongings. Each inmate is also given soap and a mat.
