Description :
The message is the first news the boy has received from his family since he left home. When he arrived at the centre, the ICRC traced his relatives and made it possible for him to exchange news with them. "I am so happy to receive news from my family," he says. The boy went through disarmament, demobilization and reintegration programme after recruitment by an armed group for the second time.

The ICRC helps these young boys trace their families and then rejoin them. It provides regular in-kind support to the centre, where children live in "families" of groups of boys and receive schooling; they also take part in activities that help them overcome their experiences, build their skills and ease their re-entry into civilian life (these activities include painting, crafts and sports).
