At the time of the incident the woman was two weeks pregnant. Her injuries were cared for in the hospital, where she gave birth to her fourth child while she was recovering.

The ICRC supports the hospital by paying fees for patients who are injured within the context of violence in the province. In addition to direct support to the hospital, the ICRC gives a certain amount of money per day to patients and carers, to enable them to buy food, soap and other necessary items during their stay in the hospital.
