Description :
In March 2012, she came back to Goma for a break when fighting broke out in the town she worked in, and she was only able to return three months later. On the way back, she was attacked and looted by an armed group who took all she had. When she finally returned to Walikale, she found her home ransacked and all her remaining possessions taken, this time allegedly by another armed group. She and her child were then forced to flee renewed fighting only a week later, this time finding safety in Walikale town. Despite this, she returned to her posting as soon as she was able to. "Despite the difficulties, the insecurity and the high cost of living, I keep on working and surviving as I can in order to serve the community. It is especially for the women that I keep on going, for the mamas who suffer here. You have pregnant women who have to give birth in fields or in the forests because of the insecurity, like animals. If they know I am here and staying on despite the war, then they may do their best to also come here so that we can take care of them.
