Description :
During recent fighting, she and her four children fled to another town. While she was there, she found a little girl by the side of the road, Jeanne, on her own. At first, she thought Jeanne's family was nearby, but as night fell she realised she was still by herself. She took Jeanne in, fed her with her family, and brought her back to Njingala with her when the security improved. The ICRC and the Red Cross of the DRC are currently looking for Jeanne's parents. Carine says if they do not find them, she is ready to take care of Jeanne as if she were her own daughter.
