Description :
The army immediately sent an ambulance to evacuate her and two other injured women to Goma, where she was treated at the civilian hospital CBCA N'Dosho, a medical structure supported by the ICRC. Samia's husband has left her and she says she does not know how she will survive afterwards, with two young children and the persistent insecurity in her hometown. Since 2008, Samia says she feels afraid, and she and her family have regularly had to flee to the forests to seek refuge. In October 2009, they also fled to neighbouring Uganda for some time. She hopes however that the security will improve and that she and her children will be able to return to her hometown in Rutshuru when her leg has healed.
