Anbar province, Markazi camp for internally displaced persons. Families in the camp, who often have no source of income, are in need of healthcare, food and other aid. Abda, 60 years old, sits outside her tent. Abda is diabetic and suffers from gangrene in her left foot. She was displaced from Ramadi in the past months, and she has no access to health care anymore. She is unable to keep a healthy diabetic diet and therefore this has contributed to her worsening health situation. Unable to have access to antibiotics, she dresses the affected area of her foot with a warm mixture of corn, sugar, and flour.

Description :
This condition, which might otherwise be managed, becomes life-threatening, and the need for healthcare among internally displaced people is only increasing. The majority of the camp's residents have fled fighting in Ramadi since April 2015, and have been living in schools, unfinished buildings or staying with relatives around Amariyat al-Fallujah, which serves as a safe haven for uprooted Iraqis in Anbar province.
The ICRC distributes food parcels, blankets and other hygiene kits.
