On the outskirts of Tikrit, Albu Ajeel village. Hundreds of families were displaced by the conflict and are now coming back to find their homes burned down or destroyed. Balasim survived a deadly attempt to flee a violent attack near Hawijah in which two people, including the mother of the young boy he is holding, were killed after stepping on a mine. He carried the boy the entire way until they reached Albu Ajeel.
