On the outskirts of Tikrit, Albu Ajeel village. Nazhan, 36 years old, a shepherd with Down syndrome. He lost his eyesight in 2005 during a violent encounter in which armed forces mistook him for a suicide bomber. In 2015, Nazhan and his family fled their village as armed groups took control of Tikrit and the surrounding areas. Upon their return in January of 2016, Nazhan and his family found their village mostly destroyed and their home partially burned down.
