Description : Over the last few years, burial rituals changed in this area of the Amazon region. Families have started building cement tombs and covering them with small roofs instead of burying their loved ones directly in the ground. In remote parts of the Amazon, there are little signs that COVID-19 has affected daily life or death rituals. Most of the families refuse to put their deceased loved ones in body bags before burying them in the cemetery.
