Description :
Inside the University Hospital of Pasto, where wounded patients of the Nariño department in central Colombia are treated. On 10 February 2009, 20-year-old Francisco and friend unknowingly stepped into a mine field. Francisco lost his right foot and his friend lost his eye sight.
In Colombia, many rural communities continue to suffer because of the use of a anti-personnel landmines, and left over unexploded ordnance. Land contaminated by these weapons makes farming impossible and causes people to leave their homes and prevents their return.
