En Afghanistan, la vie des femmes est difficile. Pour celles qui sont malades, ou souffrent de troubles mentaux, c'est encore bien pire.
Chaque femme de la section des maladies mentales du marastoon vit dans un monde double, lié à ses conditions de vie dans un lieu d'étroite proximité et elle demeure pourtant isolée et seule.
La section des femmes est claire et propre. Elle possède un jardin et une grande terrasse avec une vue sur Kaboul et les montagnes en arrière-fond. Ces femmes resteront sans doute ici jusqu'à la fin de leur vie.
Women in Afghanistan have hard lives. For those who are ill, or have mental problems, things are far worse.
Each woman in the mental ward of the marastoon lives in a dual world, linked by her condition into a life of close proximity, and yet isolated and alone.
The women's compound is bright and clean. It has a garden and a wide terrace with a view of Kabul and the mountains beyond. The women will probably spend the rest of their lives there.
