Description :
Since the beginning of the current crisis in South Sudan, the ICRC deployed Mobile Surgical Teams of specialised health personnel to perform life saving surgeries on people wounded in the fighting. The MST in Waat operates in very basic conditions using the facilities of the primary health care centre. The team receives wounded from the areas affected by fighting to perform surgery. The team is composed from an anaesthetist, a surgeon and two nurses, including a resident nurse who helps in translation.
