Description : Access to health care is very difficult in South Sudan. Few people had access before the conflict broke out and, during the conflict, many health clinics and hospitals were destroyed. In Kodok, north South Sudan, ICRC has managed to do surgery at a health clinic after they had to leave Malakal together with the population in Malakal. The health clinic has now been transformed to a hospital with 40 bedposts, 20 for children and 20 for adults. They have around 600 consultations every week. Most patients arrive on Mondays where they can get up to 150 new patients.
