Description : For six months now, this 55-year-old patient, originally from Malakal, Upper Nile state, has been in a bed in a hospital corridor, looked after by her daughter in law. She has suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and her right leg was amputated above the knee. The New Zealand Red Cross health delegate is trying to get her other leg strong enough to support her weight so she can be fitted with a prosthesis and become mobile again. ICRC supports the patient with food, medicines, wheelchair and at later stage with physical rehabilitation services while she is awaiting treatment in the hospital.
