Description :
Awa has seven children. In April 2015, her village on an island in Lake Chad in Niger was attacked. Over 20 people, including her husband were killed. After that, everybody in the village left. Awa had six children and was expecting a seventh. “We arrived in Bosso, but the authorities transferred us to Yebi,” says Awa. Her neighbours there lent her a sewing machine that they weren’t using. “I was a seamstress before. I’ve got a few customers here, but not enough.”
