Description : Abdoulaye comes from Damasak in Nigeria. He was a motorcycle-taxi driver before he had to flee when his village was attacked. Now he sells motorcycles that are no longer wanted by their owners in Diffa. The state of emergency in the area means no one can drive motorcycles there. “I used to earn seven to ten thousand CFA francs a day. Now I’m lucky if I make a thousand (around 1.5 US dollars). I’m not from Diffa, but it’s too dangerous for me to go back home. And I don’t have the money or the contacts to do anything else,” says Abdoulaye.
