Description : The ICRC supports to families associations and guide them about the process of search implemented by the government. It also strengthen their capacities. The needs of the families of missing persons are many. They need to know what happened to their relatives, give them a decent burial, to solve their problems related to widowhood and orphans, there is a need to provide them with an economic support, a psychological and psychosocial care, access to justice, organise memorial acts, get recognition of the disappearance and get compensations and repair. Between 13000 and 16 000 people disappeared during the armed conflict that took place in Peru between1980 and 2000.
