Description : On June 1984, due to a violent incursion to Huancasancos village, 14 people died. Among them, the daughter of this family’s mother, who was three months old and who was breastfed when the bullets reached her. The mother was hospitalized for a month until she recovered but she still suffers consequences. 30 years after, on 27 October 2014, the Prosecutor’s Office gave to the families the human remains belonging to 12 people. Huancasancos used to be called “city of orphans” since, due to a violent action, 40 children were orphaned. Between 13000 and 16 000 people disappeared during the armed conflict that took place in Peru between1980 and 2000.
