Description : He lost booth his legs above the knee on April 3, 2013. He was a plumber and he was going to the market when a remote controlled IED (Improvised Explosive Device) on the side of the road exploded and injured him.
The ICRC supports the Iraqi Physical rehabilitation Program since 1993. The Erbil PRC was established in 1996 to provide services for patients with physical disabilities in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.

In 2013, the ICRC provided nearly 33,000 patients with physical rehabilitation materials and services in ten ICRC-supported and one ICRC-operated physical rehabilitation centres in Iraq. These centres continue to be supported with training and raw materials to manufacture equipment such as prostheses, crutches and wheelchairs.
