Description :
Sometimes, these items are distributed outdoors in hot conditions, which makes it difficult for people to wait in the queue. To signal their place in the queue, they place designated items such as scarves, empty water bottles, bags or shoes in a clearly visible spot and then retreat to a shed.
In September, the ICRC assisted some 1,200 returnee households in Kuajok, Warrap State, by providing them with essential household items such as sorghum, sugar, soap, blankets, cooking utensils, mosquito nets, cooking oil and beans. Since 15 April 2023, when war broke out in Sudan, more than a million refugees and returnees have arrived in different parts of South Sudan, putting enormous pressure on the limited resources available, particularly food and water, but also education and healthcare services.
