Description :
Makuac Chol Agor is part of the Economic Security Department, responsible for the distribution of food and non-food items to affected populations. Open and transparent communication with the affected populations is essential to ensure the success of any assistance program aimed at those in need.
In September, the ICRC assisted some 1,200 households out of an estimated 3,000 households of returnees with food and essential household items such as soap, blankets, cooking utensils and mosquito nets. More than a million refugees and returnees have arrived in different parts of South Sudan since 15 April 2023 when war broke out in Sudan, putting enormous pressure on the meagre resources available, particularly food and water, but also education and healthcare services.
