Description :
All trade has been stopped since the war in the early 1990s. The conflict with Azerbaijan over the region of Nagorno-Karabakh contributed to a severe economic decline in the early 1990s and Armenia's borders with Turkey remain closed. This economic isolation from its two neighbours has limited its ability to make its economy grow. It is also dependant on Russia whose economic downturn directly affects the Armenian economy.
