Description : The health team in NariƱo department:

Because of the constant fights between armed groups and the colombian public forces, the health services of the State didn't get to some out-of-the-way places (Conquista, Negrito and Barbacoas). In January 2010, the ICRC, in collaboration with the local health services, came to those villages, where the population hadn't received any medical help for two years. The pregnant women got prenatal examinations, the children got vaccinations, and prevention campaign took place.
The presence of the health mission in those out-of-the-way zones enables diagnosing and caring basic diseases that could endanger people's life.
